Oliver Visits New Sky Up Academy at Sky Studios Elstree

Sir Oliver Dowden MP recently visited Sky Up Academy Studios at Sky Studios, Elstree. 

Along with Lord Lieutenant Robert Voss, they first received a tour of Sky Studios and saw some of the movies that were being filmed. 

The Sky Up Academy Studios, which opened in September and is aiming to engage 20,000 students a year to encourage them to work in the creative industries.

Oliver previously visited Sky Studios in January 2023 for a time capsule event marking the completion of the site.

Oliver said: ‘Once again, it was a pleasure to visit Sky Studios Elstree and get a tour of their facilities with Lord Lieutenant Robert Voss.

‘I was able to see behind the scenes of making the movies and it was great to learn more about their investment into our creative industries, fuelling the economy both locally and nationally.

‘The Sky Up Academy, which has just launched at the Studios, provides local young people the opportunity to see what career options there are in this varied industry.’
