The Member of Parliament, Sir Oliver Dowden MP recently visited Cuffley Model Flying Club (CMFC).
Oliver met with the Chair of the club, Mr Brian Hamill, alongside other flyers and members of the local pony club.
CMFC hold regular flying sessions for its members who come from all walks of life and are of different ages and abilities. CMFC also hosts UK-wide flying competitions and has put on a number of charitable fundraising events for local causes, like the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
Oliver was able to have a go at flying one of the club’s drones, using their virtual reality headset for the full experience!
Oliver said: ‘It was a delight to visit Cuffley Model Flying Club (CMFC) recently to meet with the Chairman, Mr Brian Hamill and other flyers.
Set on our beautiful green belt land, the club is a place for like-minded, local people to come together and enjoy this wonderful hobby.
CMFC has hosted UK flying competitions, as well as fund raising events for important charities, like the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and MIND.
Clubs like this are what make Hertsmere so special.’
