Sir Oliver Dowden MP has convened a meeting with the senior leadership of Clarion Housing Group to demand action for local residents in Borehamwood and across Hertsmere.
Sir Oliver sat down with Clarion’s Group Chief Executive, Clare Miller, alongside the Regional Housing Lead and the Head of Repairs. The meeting was called to address a growing backlog of complex cases where constituents have been left living in substandard conditions. This included cases of rats and fly infestations, mould issues, anti-social behaviour and delays in repairs.
Sir Oliver has already escalated these issues to the government, having recently submitted Written Parliamentary Questions to ensure national oversight of Clarion’s performance in Hertsmere.
Sir Oliver said, “Many residents in Borehamwood and across Hertsmere have raised concerns about feeling unheard by Clarion. Living with persistent infestations, mould, and anti-social behaviour is not something anyone should have to face.
“I brought these cases directly to the Chief Executive to ensure they are addressed, and I am encouraged that steps are now being taken to resolve them."
