The Rt Hon Sir Oliver Dowden MP recently visited the Alison Haynes Skin Clinic in Cuffley to celebrate British Beauty Week 2025 and recognise the local and national impact of the UK’s £30.4 billion beauty industry.
Founder Alison Haynes, who is marking 25 years in the industry and the clinic’s third anniversary, showcased how her business supports local jobs and apprenticeships.
Sir Oliver said: “Small businesses like Alison’s are the backbone of our local economies, driving growth, creating jobs, and supporting our local communities. They play a vital role in sustaining vibrant high streets and providing opportunities for people to build successful careers.”
Alison added: “It was an honour to share our story and demonstrate the significant contribution beauty businesses make to local employment, skills development, and economic resilience.”
As part of a nationwide movement during British Beauty Week, MPs from across the UK will be visiting businesses from across hair, barbering, beauty, nails, spa and wellness on Friday 24 October.
